He thinks he’s a French girl.
My kitty has always been really protective of his paws.
We originally thought it was because someone tried to pull his claws out with pliers, and that explained why we couldn’t see all five of them. Last week, he was taking a nap on my lap and I got a good look at his paw. One of his nails was so long it was digging into his pad.
Ana took him to the Petsmart groomers and they said he’ll need a vet. Luckily, they have a vet on site and it sounds like Ana just got an emergency appointment.
I really wish the vet who gave him a physical before we got him would have noticed. I feel so bad for the guy.

What a great photo of my OTHER baby. As much of an asshole as he is, I still love him.
When we first met Arthur the Cat, we were a bit afraid of him.
He gave both of us a few good swats when our hands went out of his field of view or when we snuck up on him from behind. Once he swatted Analiese when she didn’t put his food dish down quick enough. It’s been a long time since he’s even hissed, and I think it has to do with his bum hip healing up (no more limping!) and his increasing comfortableness with us and our apartment. He’s still a chicken cat though. He’s run and hid when I fixed the blanket on the bed, so no King Arthur he.
I’ve become more and more bold about petting his hips since I’ve noticed that he doesn’t limp or react as if petting his hind leg hurts anymore. Yesterday was the first time I picked him up though. He didn’t give a crap. He’d been wandering around the living room yelling for attention. I decided to pick him up and plop him on the couch next to us. He immediately rolled on his back and purred like a madman. I was afraid the street had forced all the nice ragdoll qualities out of him. Turns out he’s still just a big softie after all.

He had some big adventures today. He’s so pooped that he’s snoring. Seriously, this is the world’s most awesome cat.
The poor kid was totally freaked out. You’d think that after a weekend of poking his head around and trying to sneak out of the bathroom that he’d be excited but instead he’d sniff one or two new things then run back and start stress eating. It took a good fifteen minutes to coax him into the living room.
